Thanks to Everyone! Can't wait to return!!!

Thanks so much to everyone expecially PWT, IXL & BM for all their great suggestions! We just returned from our 2 week New England trip and I must say it was a dream of a life time. We were in Vermont (Manchester Center up to Burlington and down to Woodstock) from October 5-7th. The colors were hit and miss but what colors they were. The Middlebury Gap was beautiful. Not much color in Manchester but enjoyed the entire trip. Saw 30 covered bridges and countless waterfalls. Texas Falls was awesome. I remember trying to find Hamilton Falls and we drove across a little pond and I was able to take some beautiful photo's. It was very colorful in that particular area on Oct. 6th. Quechee Gorge was ver pretty but still hadn't fully peaked. Well, now I have my memories and photo's to remind me of a beautiful place I hope to return to soon.

You covered a lot of territory. 30 bridges is a good start. Did you get to the Falls of Lana?

We did get to Falls of Lana however I don't think we were in a good place to see the falls. I really believe there was more to see than what we were able to see. I know that we went off on road 53(?) and there was a pull off with a sign that stated "falls of Lana". We pulled off and parked in the lot and walked & walked. We could hear the water however when we reached the top (?) it was on our left and we really didn't get to see much water. I really truly believe there was probably a better spot to see the falls and we just weren't at it. From everything I have read this was suppose to be one of the better falls and we just didn't see it. Did we miss the best place?
I would like to come back next year and stay up in the NEK, Stowe area and then travel over to the Kancamagus Highway and North of it. We were not able to go up north and I really think we missed something. Do you agree?

I am a bit prejudiced. I live and love the area north of Stowe. The first weekend in Oct. would be the time to plan on. Columbus Weekend is great but get you room early.
