Good Color in St. Johnsbury

I was in St. Johnsbury today. First at Dog Mountain for the dog party then east of there along Rt 2 then up to Colebrook. Good color out that way, some nice bright trees. Saw a tree in someone's yard that was so bright red it almost hurt my eyes to look at it. It was gorgeous. I think it was a maple, but it had 3 shades of red. I would say this is a morning, early afternoon trip. You don't want the sun to be in the west if heading up to Colebrook as it seems a lot of the good scenery on Rt. 3 north was on the left. Along Rt 2, both sides had good color. East Johnsbury was quite colorful. I'd say in this area it was probably 70-75% turned. A local lady I spoke to at the dog party felt peak would be next weekend.
