Peak foliage conditions here in Enfield and about 10% bare after yesterday's rain. Some areas of really beautiful color and some drab areas as well. Definitely better foliage conditions here than in most of Northeastern Connecticut. I'd say close to the same quality foliage as in Northwestern Connecticut this Fall.

Some really nice foliage color in Enfield, but it's in commercial areas and pictures are hard to take.

Another drab overcast day today, unfortunately at the time of peak foliage.

Kevin, Thursday is supposed to be 75 and blue skies. No rain or wind to blow off the precious leaves so fill up that gas tank! Hope you can get back out to the western areas and you'll be surprised how far along Barkhamsted is.

Is Ashford, Tolland and the areas around UCONN that bland this year? i love it out there and was hoping to see what the back roads looked like. Colchester, Bolton, Columbia, Hebron and Lebanon areas. Then on to route 169 in the Quiet Corner...... let me know if you will be back out there or did you give up on that section of CT?

On October 10th, I drove on Route 190 to Route 32, I-84, to Route 197 and Bigelow Hollow, Route 169 to Woodstock, Route 44 back to Route 31. Not good foliage anywhere and about 60% bare around Woodstock. Even today, heading towards Stafford Springs, the foliage started going bare. Frankly I wouldn't bother going there this season, it's way too late. I imagine it would be mostly bare after all the rain we had. We do have Oaks turning already, which is about 2 weeks early.

My area of Connecticut is at peak, as is Somers. The problem with my area is it's very developed, both commercial and residential, so some nice foliage is on private property. The picture of the cows in Tolland was taken in the breakdown lane of Route 74 with traffic speeding by.

I'm planning on going to New Haven during the period of October 27-29 depending upon foliage conditions and weather. I'm curious if that's too late.

Kevin, I think you should be fine. That's around when I am going to Essex. If there are rounds of rain and wind in the next 2 weeks, I won't head to the CT shoreline. It's really a wait and see. CT

Rain here this morning and now my area is past peak. Some nice stand alone color in spots, but panorama areas are going bare. What's interesting is how early the Oaks are changing. It's about 10 days early. Right now it's less than 10% still green here.

Past peak here is Enfield and going bare. I did a quick drive down to Bloomfield and it's not any better further South. 1-91 in town is about 50% bare. The rain this week will finish off alot of the foliage.

1-3" of snow here in Enfield and some late foliage. This is my driveway.
