Hi pwt... thank you very much for your suggestions for foliage routes. We were in VT for three days this weekend- fri thru sunday. Friday & Sunday were bright and sunny. We did the loop around NE kingdom that you suggested, though only till Lake Willoughby (Had food in the deli, very nice). Route 2 , 5a, 12 were bursting into colors. Today the day was nice and we went hiking up the mount elmore. Its about 1.2 miles to the top but the view is phenomenal.

Overall a very fruitful trip... sadly all of it cannot be captured on the camera
