For those wanting to venture further afield, northern Maine in the Rangely Lakes area is really good right now. Just got back today. Height of the Land was spectacular, too bad it was a bit rainy at the time. Bethel is looking pretty good, but a bit behind. Rumsford all the way up route 17 to Rangley is really good right now. Lots of bright reds. I was in Maine Oct. 5 - 8. Drove home via rt. 302 then cut through Sugar Hill. Sugar Hill is great right now and pretty much all of Rt 302 was really spectacular.
