Went up and over Route 125 and back today between Middlebury and Hancock.
Left East Middlebury to summer like foliage so I wasn't expecting much.
By the time I got up to Ripton village some color started coming out. I was pleasantly surprised. It is no where near peak and in fact is still on the early side but there were some reds and oranges starting to pop out amongst the green.
So...if you are looking for somewhere to go over the next few days this road might be worth a drive. Be sure to stop and check out Texas Falls. Hike to Lake Pleaiad at Middlebury Snow Bowl (trail starts at the height of land - you'll see cars parked there). Walk the Robert Frost Nature Trail. Check out the Breadloaf Campus of Middlebury College.
