Earlier, Longer Fall Color Season Predicted For 2017

Postby wentworth » Tue Aug 29, 2017 2:52 am

DailyMail has an article out 8/28/17 showing earlier Fall this year, with the NorthEast Kingdom near Peak on Sept 23rd(like in 2014). The colors are also predicted to last longer this year than last year--From the Smoky Mountains website,an Algorithm with several million data points, and 50,000 predictive data pieces. Based on NOAA historical temperatures, precipitation forecast, forecast temps, forecast precipitation, and historical leaf peak trends----Although its been said that predicting when and how good a Fall season may be, is more of an Art than a Science, perhaps the Science is catching up

Well wouldn't that be nice Wentworth!!! :D We will know in just a few weeks how accurate this report is. I think it's still early for these predictions.....especially predicting the length of the season. But as always, it's interesting to follow these reports. When are you planning on arriving this year?
