We'll we have been border to border! Yesterday we took rt2 all the way up through the Champlain Islands, very disappointing, looks like early Sept. colors still beautiful through EnosFalls and 108. Today headed down Rt 7 to Bennington, best color around Rutland, Lake Dunmore, Danby and Bennington. Route 9 to Wilmington is done. Took Rt 100 south from there picked up good color again in Mass. had a wonderful time, looking forward to Historic Deerfield tomorrow, the colors looked amazing just before sunset.

Have a great day tomorrow Janice and I can't wait to hear about Deerfield! Did you take 100 south to 112 in Wilmington? Sorry 9 was a disappointment! Gorgeous day tomorrow for Deerfield! Go on their website if you have time. Lots of great info on there to read unless you have already done so. I may go up this weekend as well as it is such a magical place!

Yes, that was the route we took, through Colrain, pretty church spire there as you come in, wish the color had been better there.

Deerfield was WONDERFUL! Wish we had more time, visited all the guided tour homes and cementery, but they close at 4:30 and it was time to head over towards Salem for our nights lodging. Beautiful drive over on Rt2 (Mowhawk Highway). So many beautiful reflection spots and no place to pull over! :( Don't they know they need to plan for photographers!

Janice: glad you liked Old Deerfield so much! Did you love the old doors on the homes and did they have all the huge pumpkins and gourds adorning the front steps? If you took Colrain 112 you missed the hair pin turn in North Adams and the ascent up the mountain. Maybe you can do the whole Mohawk Trail next time! Enjoy Salem as I think this is the last stop on your very wonderful vacation! :D

p.s. the old cemetery was very interesting, the stones are soooo old and the inscription carvings were captivating.
