Good morning to all of you out there who love autumn and Vermont! Today is the first day (10:21 a.m.) of fall! We have arrived! I can finally say, "I'm leaving for Vermont in a week!!!" Very cool this morning here in Northern CT and the sky is clear and the geese are flying overhead. Time to get your pumpkins and mums and adorn your home and celebrate! I wish you all great foliage vacations into the great state of Vermont or wherever you travel to welcome our most cherished season. I have visions of winding back roads with brilliant canopies guiding my way into the heart of Vermont. I can't wait to cross the border for my foliage vacation that is just around the corner! :D

Happy autumn to all! CT

It is 87 degrees in Ohio. Very hard to get into the mood for fall when my AC is still running 24-7.

Then again, this may not be the end of summer but it is the beginning of the end.

Aww,Dean I feel your pain, good news is it's only 52 degrees here, rain in the valleys and snow on the mtn. tops and it's all headed your way! Hopefully not the damaging winds and floods though. A couple of tornados yesterday which rare for us, but all is well here. Autumn IS coming!

It hit approximately 90 degrees today in both the Chicago and Indianapolis areas, and is supposed to remain very hot right through the weekend.

On the other hand, I begin the drive to New England early tomorrow morning. The projected highs and lows over the next few days for Rumford, Maine (my first stop; I won't arrive until some time Saturday afternoon): 62/42 Friday, 61/37 Saturday, 57/35 Sunday. Unless I miss my guess, those lows ought to give the colors a very nice kick in the pants.
