The Wonder Of Nature, Fall 2012 after Fall 2011

Looking back, since Fall will be here next month, I am reminded at the dramatic change in our fortunes after the nightmare of 2011, to the sheer beauty of the 2012 season

Hurricane Irene, besides its devastating floods, caused the worst Fall season ever in 2011--The shock of that year still haunts me--We drove all over our usual places, NEK, Rt 232, Rt 100, Rt 4, and stayed in Killington the usual time last week of Sept--Killington was 99% brown, and other places were little better--

and then like Phoenix rising from the ashes, 2012 gave us one of the best Falls ever--I think my finger was getting sore by taking so many pictures!--Killington had the best color I had ever seen, and the NEK was an amazing sight also, countless red trees, and it lasted for a long time--We were on Cloud 9(btw, 2014 was also fantastic that last week in Sept, Killington, Rt 232,Rt 100, and more endless red trees in the NEK)

Anyway, I just wanted to state that I don't think there has ever been such a contrast between those 2 Falls, 2011 and 2012, nature really is amazing

The anniversary of Irene is in two weeks, the 28th. If you read my post - July 31st - on my visit to Wilmington you will see one of the most dramatic recovery missions in Vermont. The town is amazing! Drive through this autumn to see for yourself! :D
