My 2015 Foliage Album

Post: # 19604Post From_the_NEK

It was a productive year, once it FINALLY got going :D .
I'm still going through a lot of my shots so this collection will likely grow.

The rising Sun, fresh snow and remaining foliage made for a great 3 hrs of phototaking fun on Sunday. However, the cold temps and breeze stripped the trees bare by afternoon. Now all we have left are the tamaracks which will likely be completing their turn by this weekend.

O - M - G :!: :!: :!: This is the most amazing set of photos Tim! You have truly outdone yourself this autumn! I got goose bumps scrolling through the scenes! My favorite? The rainbow reaching out to touch that golden tree! What a capture! That is award winning for sure. I love the cows as well! The snow shots phenomenal! Congratulations on finding your color this season Tim. How fortunate we are to have you as a SOV member.

A great job indeed! :D :D :D

Tim: I just scrolled through again. "Good Morning" and "Hilltop Heifers" are stunning shots. You are going places with "Snowliage Scene" for sure!

Tim, oh my what can I say more, I'm simply awe struck! The snow scenes push it over the top for me, am soooo jealous! The whole time we where there my husband kept saying he wanted to stay till it snowed, who knew it would do so only a few days after we left! I posted a few pictures under the Woodstock/Pomfret/Quechee post, but after seeing these am not sure I'll do anymore!

Wow. Some amazing shots and nice lighting. The rainbow on the orange tree.. perfect.

We never got any foliage anything like that down here except in small pockets. Once again the NEK wins the prize. I thought that with the late year maybe we would do better than you guys this year.. nope, not even close. Instead you guys got a really long season and we got .. mostly bleh.

I dunno what it is but the NEK nearly always seems to do well. The only time I've seen it not have great color were in 2004 (when i went up way too early) and 2005 (which was the worst year for foliage everywhere that I can ever remember).

That is some fine photography there. You should send some of those shots into Vermont Life. They have early deadlines, check with them.

Well after all the encouragement I received here, I did indeed submit a set of photos to Vermont Life. And low a behold they picked one for a two page spread! The issue should be arriving to subscribers very soon. I thought they might pick one of the foliage with snow shots since it is rather rare to get snow during actual peak foliage. The editors went a different direction and chose the wide view of this shot.

Tim - I just got my Vermont Life and your two page spread is outstanding! Can I get your autograph???? As I said in a previous post, you are going somewhere with your photography and I had a feeling the magazine was forthcoming. The foliage shot is just breathtaking and it sings of autumn in Vermont! The layers upon layers of mountains, peaks and valleys and open green pastures are captivating. No wonder it was chosen for a spread! I am very happy for you. (I have to admit however, that your snowliage shot will still be one of my favorites.) I am sure you are looking forward to shooting more fall scenes in just a matter of weeks up there and hope you post some previews of what is to come for us on this forum.

Again, congratulations are in order for your Vermont Life two page autumn spread! :D
