Scenes of Vermont Forums

I found some of the covered bridges in Montgomery were fun to view, but photographically speaking, some of them are not "photogenic." I think my favorite of the Montgomery bridges to photograph is the Comstock Bridge. But, like I said, it's still a "fun" drive to take and it's really neat to see so many different covered bridges.

I'll second this. The more "photogenic" bridges in the North, in my view, are in Waterville. I do think the Longley Bridge on this route has some promise, though. There is a little trail just off the main road (left as you turn onto the gravel road to proceed through the bridge), which is narrow and slippery, but leads to a nice view which, when conditions are right, yields a very nice reflection:

Certainly agree with you, as long as Vermont is on our blessed Earth, there will always be something awaiting us to enjoy. We may even revisit past places and repeat drives for things we missed. Even driving a road once taken, a rare opportunity to come upon a moose walking across the road in front of you is so special! Among the GoStowe list of scenic drives, I was amused with the beautiful pictures of a canopy of trees associated with the Brush Hill Drive right outside the town of Stowe. We were in that specific area at Moss Glen Falls, walking a trail, climbing rocks to reach the Moss Glen Falls Overlook then relaxing afterwards over lunch on rocks by the babbling stream; yet somehow missed that awesome photo op of the canopy of trees!?? This Forum is so informative and the sharing of authentic information is so valuable when we never know exactly when or where we will find the foliage or peak colors. Folks, new to this Foliage Forum, there are two Moss Glen Falls in Vermont. One is in this Brush Hill area approximately three miles North of Stowe Village.
The other Moss Glen Falls is directly off Route 100 in Ganville

Aspen, I've really enjoyed reading what you have written. Very nice! I've been on that website many times and printed out all those routes last year.

I've been to the Moss Glen Falls in Granville a few times, but I can't remember if I went to the ones in Stowe. Gets confusing after awhile with all these bridges and waterfalls!

Ther are rebuilding route 12 between Elmore and Worcester right now. I'm not sure if they will be done by foliage season. It shouldn't be a problem and you won't get seasick driving the road anymore.

I should mention that they have finished rebuilding the Creamery Bridge off the West Hill Road in Montgomery. You can now drive through the bridge and out to the Hill West Road.

Gap roads yes such as Rt 73 and Rt 125, Rt 125 is our favorite at peak on a bright cloudy day
Interstate 89 going south from Montpelier into New Hampshire
Interstate 93 going south from St Johnsbury
Kancamagus Hwy(Rt 112) in New Hampshire, last 2 years beautiful,but 2007 there was no color cuz of big drought, this year should be fine
Interstate 93 in New Hampshire going south from Rt. 302 into the White mountains

Others have suggested great scenic areas, will add:

Drive along Lamoille River Hogback Road Jeffersonville/Johnson

Route 100 (North to South)

on foot, some of the best eye candy has been found in the villages between the road trips. stone walls dripping with discarded rainbow leaves, old buildings transported from another century, pumpkin faces biding their time until they burst with orange flame on a special night. god bless whoever the genius was that invented autumn in new england.

This one part confuses me:
"and again facing west on Route 66 at Route 89 crossroads at District 4's Randolph Gorge entrance parking lot". I saw pwt54 mention the same spot. Does that just mean the intersection of 66 west and 89?
