Hi everyone--Here are some forecast low temps: Killington:
Sept 13th 38 degrees
Sept 15th 40 degrees
Sept 19th 40 degrees

Pittsburg, NH:
Sept 12th 39 degrees
sept 13th 35 degrees
Sept 15th 39 degrees
Sept 18th 38 degrees

As we know how crucial these below normal temps are for color, things are looking good--First Conn Lake in Pittsburg NH is reporting some early color, as is Route 145 in NH--Killington Center reports some red trees already

Hi Wentworth, nice to see you back again! pretty much concur with those numbers this weekend. By far it should be pretty chilly. I still would not be surprised to see a few light frosts in the normally cold spots like sutton VT Saranac Lake NY and West Burke VT amount others. On a side note TD 6 has formed off of Africa. At this time it looks to recurve out in the Atlantic, so on the beaches it should be SWELL. More updates to come!

Hey Wentworth! Nice to see you here on the forum this season. I saw this post with the latest temperatures and said to myself, "Wow, is there another Wentworth out there?" Now I see you have another screen name!

It sure feels like late September this a.m. and it's time for a jacket in the mornings! brrrrr! I had the fans going last night with the windows open and froze!

Another beauty of a weekend on tap for the northeast! Enjoy! :D

I concur with those temps. And another plus is that there are no real storms coming up, just some frontal passages, so plenty of sun to destroy that evil chlorophyl HA HA HA HA HA!!!

Summer is offically over. Sears is advertising snowblowers, my mother gave permisson to turn on the furnace, and the governor candidates are debating at the Tunbridge World's Fair today. Which is why I'm going tomorrow. :D

I guess Summer is over PWT! Now if somebody would just tell the Florida weather Gods that. LOL
Some of todays's (Saturdays) low temps.
And the winners are…...Drumroll Please………

Saranac Lake NY 29
Walden And Averhill VT 30
Plainfield 33
Johnson VT 34

Now what is more amazing of these lows is the front came through Yesterday. Generally the coldest night is the SECOND night after a frontal passage. On the first night the winds are up and keep the temps from reaching their lowest possible. So I expect even colder tonight! Cover up your palm trees!

That's nothing. Wait until Fri Night/Sat am. Most of VT will be well down into the 20s and interior southern New England will have some frost. Bundle up CT! But by Sunday it should be back to 70s north and low 80s south. Probably another cold shot around 23rd 24th. But plenty of sun and the next 14 days look below normal for temps and precip! The mountains of NC basically had the same summer weather cool and wet but not overly so. Foresters there are predicting a very brilliant season with lots of eye popping reds! I expect the same in New England. This year just might be the Perfect Storm for foliage!!

yep, and last year in NC ,around the Boone area, mostly SW and SE of there there was a lot of color, especially on the Blue Ridge Pkwy, where the color was so good, that dozens of us parked illegally, just to get a closer look--on the other hand, Asheville Fall color was very dull--2012 in Vermont had a lot of Sept very low temps also, and the color on Killington mountain, and Rt 114 in Island pond was about the best I had ever seen it
