Was thinking of exploring the are between Bennington and Danby on Tuesday. Has anyone been out there this week? How are things looking? Leaf drop from rains? Any suggested routes? I know i want to hit Lye Brook falls but am otherwise open.

That area usually turns color later in the season. Should be real good and maybe early. Route US 7 for long views and route 7A for old VT. Routes 30, 313,315, 153. A little farther north I like routes 133 and 140.

Do you think Rt 100 through the Green Mountains might be better given the elevation?

I did 140, 153 today. Things looked good over by the Merk forest (sp), but the higher elevations of 100 around ludlow were past peak. I would stay lower but some west facing hillsides still look ok.
