Hi, my parents are visiting the States till 09/26, and 09/22-09/23 was the latest trip I could schedule without affecting their return plans.
I have reserved accomodations in Stowe, VT, and was planning to jump onto Rt. 100 N as soon as I can get on it (I'll be driving from Boston).
I keep hearing references to wet lands having a better chance of color.
Could anyone please let me know where I would have a good chance of seeing color this early in the season. Since I have two full days I wouldn't mind driving further up north-east. But if any of you kind folks out there have specific areas I should consider, please let me know.
As of now the only 'touristy' thing planned is the gondola ride.
Thanks,
John

My advise would be to take the interstate routes to get to Stowe as fast as you can and wander north and east of Stowe for best color. The area north of route 15 and east of route 108 should be near peak.
