Smugglers' Notch color late as of 10/2

We were at Smuggler's Notch Resort for the past 5 days, expecting to be there at peak, and left yesterday. We have not been to Vermont before and so are not good judges of what is peak. However, it looked to us like the color was maybe half way there. Staff as the resort said peak was a week or two away, that it had slowed down after starting. Stowe, etc. looked pretty much the same to us.

We took a day trip to Stowe (live in NH) and were surprised at how minimal the foliage was - especially near Smuggler's Notch..... that's Mother Nature for ya .......the estimate that peak should be 1-2 weeks away seems to be accurate....
