Randg: I like the leaves on the ground in the foreground. Any possibility of lightening that shadowed area up a bit?

Yeah, I could, but I think it's more dramatic this way.

I much prefer the verticle. The foreground is a bit dark for my taste, but there is detail to be seen there. Nicely compossed!

I agree with Rich. The Vertical seem more dynamic to me. As I have said on the photo forum, what is great about photography is that we don't all agree an what "looks good."

Having said that, I think you could bring the shadows up some and still maintain a dramatic look. My concern is that the shadow areas are so dark in some spot that they are what we referred to back in the day as "blocked up" (its much harder to see on the computer screen, because of the technology--but in a print is will really show). But as Rich said, its just my personal taste.

Compositionally, I really like what you did with the photo.
