What dates are they suggesting for these routes, 114 and 105 we are interested in. Have been rethinking our trip, we might what to stay in Morrisville Oct 5th, do the Stowe area, Smugglers
Notch and maybe up 109, Hazens Notch, and back 100
to Morrisville. Next day up 14 to 58 to 5 or 5A maybe 114, just wonder about foliage over there, then to St Johnsbury and then into NH monday night. What do you think? Going to check out rooms
in Morrisville. Hope to hear from anyone!
Thanks,
Cindy

Re: The newspaper article
Peak foliage might be better south of Morrisville. There will be some good late foliage north of Morrisville. All those roads you mentioned are great rides even with late foliage. My favorite road out of Morrisville is route 12 south all the way to route 107 east in Bethel. Take route 107 east to route 14 north and turn left. Take route 14 all the way to Hardwick and route 15 west to Morrisville. If you can't find a room in Morrisville, check out Stowe or Montpelier. My favorite road going south out of St. Johnsbury may shock some folks, I like route US 5 south. It parallels I-91, so traffic is light.

pwt54,
Next week I'll be travelling south from St Johnbury to Lebanon. I noticed you like Route 5 for this drive. How does Route 10 compare for the same drive?

Re: The newspaper article
Ive only traveled route 10 a couple of times in the summer. I can't say for sure what the colors will be like. Route 10 is a nice drive and the colors should be about the same. The views of the Connecticut River are better from route 10 than route US 5 in most cases. I'm assuming your going to Littleton,Nh. to get to route 10. What I do is get off I-93 at exit 44 in NH. and go back a bit and pick up route 135 south to route 10. I like that better than route 10 out of Littleton.
