I'm studying in Boston. I've never seen fall foliage.I'll come back to my home country next summer. So this year is my last chance to see fall foilage. Do you have any suggestions if drive from Boston on Oct4th and stay over night at white river junction for 1 night?

You will be in the best area in Vermont for foliage at that time. You may have a very hard time finding a room if you don't have one reserved before you come up. If you do decide to risk it and can't find a room there, head for the Killington Ski area or Rutland. You could try Woodstock but it will be expensive. If you do find a room in White River, you will probably have time for a ride before dark. Take route 14 north to Sharon,Vt. Take route 132 from there over to route US 5 and take that south to White River. Next day, go to Woodstock and take route 106 south to route 11 in Springfield.Take route 11 west to Chester. In Chester take route 103 west to Ludlow. Go through Ludlow to route 100 north. In Plymouth take route 100A to US 4 east back to I-89 and Back to Boston. Gotta go. Red Sox are on and Pedro is pitching. Good luck.

Oops forgot Killington/Rutland. If you stay in Killington, take route 100 south to Ludlow, route 103 to Chester, route 11 east to Springfield, and route 106 north to Woodstock. From Rutland, take route US7 south to route 103. Take route 103 all the way to Chester. Take route 11 east to Springfield and route 106 north to Woodstock.

I've driven by the Shady Lawn a few times, looks OK. Getting a room at that time is tough.
