I found the SOV forums from the Foliage Vermont site and joined her in September, 2005. I was planning a fall-foliage photography trip to Vermont in October and was trying to find current information about conditions and expectations, as well as locations.
I spent a number of falls living in Vermont during my "youth" and was excited about my first fall color trip back in 30 years! Part of my planning involved a "book" I stumbled on by "googling" Vermont Fall Color Photography, by a photographer named ARNOLD JOHN KAPLAN, who very graciously shared information very intimate to a serious photographer (the book was the only one of its kind at the time). Arnold's work has been prominently displayed on the Scenes of Vermont Site for many years where you can see his slideshow http://www.foliage-vermont.com/kaplan.htm, but he has not had a "presence" here on the forum. I have wanted to try to find a way to "connect" with Arnold for 4 years now.
Our own Abby met him recently at an awards banquet and put us in touch. I have since had some conversations with him and he is the subject of my most recent Blog on the SOV Blog http://www.scenesofvermont.com/blog/. Hope you'll go have a look!
