We are flying into Manchester, NH Wednesday, Oct 9th for a 3 day visit to the New England area. Can you give me some hints to get the most out of our time to catch the best foliage, etc.

First find a room if you don't have one. They will be hard to find. You may want to look in the Manchester/Concord area. Then head north to the area between Lincoln - Conway - Franconia. That's the heart of the White Mountains. In Vermont at that time I would do the northeast area above route US4 and east of route 100. Rooms will be harder to find over here. I would look for lodging around a ski area. They have the most lodging.
