Visit to Vermont

Having lived his entire life in FL my husband has never seen the fall foliage. We are planning a visit to vacation home in West Danville. What would be the best 2 weeks to experience the full effects of the leaves changing?

The last week of September and the first week of October. However, with this dry spell we are having the trees in less than ideal soils are turning early in the north. There is some good early color north of US 2 and east of route 100. Roads like Rt. 12 and Rt. 14 north of Montpelier. Route 100 from Granville north.
