Re: Autumn Scenes from the Northeast Kingdom

Congrats! That is great.

As a subscriber to both magazines, I shall keep a close eye out for the images!

Congrats again!

Re: In lieu of new Vermont photos...

Thank you and it is good to be back. I know that I have a spacing issues on those images. I have no idea why I did that. I didn't do it anywhere else and I always use a tripod at Gettysburg so, framing wasn't an issue. I have to chalk that up to sleeping for an hour, leaving at 10 PM, driving all ni...

Re: The Great Fall Get Together

Thank you both! I am still trying to determine what I want to do. Stratton has basic rooms for a very low price for the period I would be going so, I am really being pulled toward a return trip, even if I will miss the big get-together. I shall to re-visit a certain Vermont photography e-book and se...

Re: The Great Fall Get Together

I am so bummed. My travel (still up in the air as to VT or Gettysburg) won't be any earlier than October 7th. Unfortunately, working in investments, quarter end (Sept. 30) is crunch time so, I cannot really get away until business day four which is October 6th. I shall enjoy the get together, vicari...

Re: In lieu of new Vermont photos...

Utah, thank you! I have gone the last two years. Year one was a bit of a bust as Congress shut the park down for (what should have been) my first two days and days three and four were a rainy overcast mess. Last year, I drove all night and got in a day a half of good shooting before October rain and...

In lieu of new Vermont photos...

I am hoping for some thoughts/feedback on these. A few of my photos from Gettysburg from last year Thanks all! https://40.media.tumblr.com/198664e5de2a92b4fdb4283a4cbf5f02/tumblr_nqi5cfOlp41uzstwro1_540.jpg https://40.media.tumblr.com/f6aa6fa0cb0376a7e052185ea7d66696/tumblr_nqi5bfbkGN1uzstwro1_540.j...

Re: Fall foliage in mid-september

In Burlington, that time of the month, I would think you should be getting color, given the options you have at hand. The nice thing about that area is that I believe the area close to the lake will go late and the nearby mountains early. Odds are, with a short drive, you'll get some color! My apolo...

Re: Technology Marches On

I slid into Sony when they acquired Konica Minolta's camera division about a decade ago. I am now on the a77 and continue to be thrilled with how Sony has dedicated itself to innovation. That new camera sounds very interesting as I would like a high quality (I am spoiled by my a77's quality) camera ...

I am a creature of habit so, the list will likely be shortish but, absolutely.

What is your general path (i.e. main roads involved)?

Re: Southern Vermont update

CT,

Newfane is such a wonderful place to shoot. Just quintessential VT.

Jamaica State and the West River can be some great places to shoot too.

Re: Lunar Eclipse 10/8/14

Oooooh, now I have to start thinking about how to use this. I will be arriving at Gettysburg in the middle of the night on the 7th/8th and shooting from about 5 AM in order to get some good shots using the full moon in some parts of the park that are publicly accessible prior to sunrise. I was hopin...

Re: Southern Vermont update

Fallguy, That is my favorite drive. I love all of the diversions you can take on that route. From the Chiselville Covered Bridge in Sunderland to Arlington Green to the quarry in Dorset to The Scott Bridge, there are so many great stops. That is to say nothing of Stratton and Equinox mountains. Than...

Re: Sony A7r

Andy,

I picked up the a77 at Christmas. It isn't full framed but I just couldn't justify the jump to the a99.

I am seeing big improvements in image quality and will post soon.

Thanks!

Crickets!

This place is about as quiet as a maple leaf slowly drifting to the forest floor. Keep in mind, there are four seasons: foliage season pre-prep, foliage season prep, foliage season and post foliage season and all are good times to share photos and no place better for that than our very own photograp...
