Why do I recognize all of those places?
I thought you were a reformed "over-saturater" but I guess not; especially the blues.
I really like the shot with the boats. I'm surprised that you didn't clone me out though. Or maybe that was Carol.

Re: 2015 Vermont Foliage Trip
Thank you Charles. Andy: I know you are a reformed "over-saturater" but that doesn't mean a little saturation isn't a good thing. Or, it could be my patience waiting for the best possible light; you know, while you were wandering around looking for something else. Betsy: the mushroom shot just...

While I had a wonderful time in Vermont last week, I'm so wishing I was there NOW! The color looks amazing and your photos are really nice too.

Re: Chittenden Reservoirs- morning shot with fog- how are colors?
Who can successfully predict fog on a pond? I think your best bets might be Noyes Pond on 302 at Seyon State Park near Groten and Ricker Pond just of 232, also near Groten. If you have freezing temperatures at night, you should get fog rising off the water and you may have more generalized fog. You ...

It seems that your directions are correct but offer more detail than you need.
Owl's Head is on the right side of 232.

Re: Photographing the milky way
I don't think there are a lot of photographers who shoot the night sky. I'm not from Vermont so I'm limited in my ability to suggest places to shoot at night. I think it will be perfectly safe if you shoot at the Appalachian Gap. There is a parking area there so you are way off the road. You will ha...

Re: A little Vermont humor on 232
With the exception of tomorrow, the weather forecast looks really good for you.
Thanks for sharing the roadside humor. My favorite, albeit unintentional I think, is a sign in South Dakota along Interstate 90 where a service station advertises "toeing".

Here's a Milky Way shot I made at Colton Pond shooting with Margy. Thanks to all of you for your nice comments. I enjoyed meeting you face to face Margy and Janice. I am happy to share my knowledge of photographing the Milky Way with any of you any time. I may have to write an article about the Milk...

mgdolly86, if you haven't read my article on photographing the Milky Way, you should do so. It will give you the information you need to get a good Milky Way shot. Here's the link: http://www.goldimagesphoto.com/Nightscapes This weekend the moon sets in the late afternoon so you will have moonless s...

Re: Questions about Owls Head and Kettle Pond
Tim, most of the trail is rock but you are likely to find some mud along the way.
It is well worth the effort to go there even if you get into some mud, so long as you don't have fog.

Re: the color is coming, the color is coming!
I arrived in Waitsfield tonight. I flew into Hartford and drove to Waitsfield. The color kept getting better as I drove north. There were pockets of exceptional color along Interstate 89. While there was some color on the mountains, it is still pretty dull and it will be at least a week before it pe...

Re: Foliage Report
Hi there, I have never used a blog before, and I've never been to Vermont; however, we are hoping to visit friends in southern Vermont between October 6-12, and can certainly drive to central and northern Vermont, to see the leaves. We are particularly interested in seeing the leaves at their peak....
