Re: Arlington area on 10/13 - 10/15

Hi CT! I have been going to VT every year, but haven't been on the forum for a while. I forget how useful this forum is!! I am actually moving to Woodbury next week, which is in Litchfield County. What's nice is I am on 5+ acres, surrounded by 50+ acres of Flanders nature preserve. It's like my litt...

Arlington area on 10/13 - 10/15

Hi All, I'll be coming to VT for my annual foliage weekend, and this year pushed it back from the first weekend in October to the 13th. Any early predictions on color in the Arlington area that weekend? I also scheduled a VT train ride on the 14th that goes from Chester to Okemo and back. Thanks in ...

Looks like another 'miss' this year :(

Hi Everyone, So, I will be at The Arlington Inn on October 3-4, and up until this morning, the weather showed sunny. It appears that's not the case now :( Also, it appears that due to the warmer-than-usual weather, there may be minimal color in that region. Thoughts? Has anyone seen color in the Arl...

Hi CT! Sadly, I cannot make the trip this year. I have, though, been 'living' it through your posts. I am actualy excited for you and the 'gang'. Honestly, there is a tree in my backyard that started to change, and today at work (I work in Shelton), I noticed several healthy Maples turning orange an...

Hi CT! Are you in the Litchfield section of the state? That area is also just as close to VT as you can get in CT. I think that with the cool weather scheduled for later this week, this next weekend may be almost past-peak in some areas. It seems like it happened so fast this year here in CT. I have...

Yesterday, I did a motorcycle run on routes 148, 153, 82, 81, and 146. These span the towns of Killingworth, Haddam, Deep River, Essex, Guilford, Branford, Madison, Moodus, and Millington. Sites such as Gillette Castle, Devil's Hopyard, and the CT River Valley are on these routes. All I can say is t...

In Killingworth CT where I live, there are areas that I swear are almost peak! There are allot of areas with low-lying valleys and ponds, and those areas are literally as colorful as they are going to get. Killingworth is mainly all wooded, and as I drive through town, there are those certain trees ...

Hi CT! Actually, The Inn at Ormsby was very nice, but for some reason, I personally felt it lacked the 'country-ness' of other inns. Unfortunately, I do not think we will make it there this Autumn. I sent my wife to Italy for her birthday (with her friend), and we are just too busy to go this year. ...

Where I live in Killingworth, CT, the grass is starting to turn, as is early signs of the trees. Swimming pool keeps letting off it's 'steam' in the morning. We typically stay at the Inn at Weston, and earlier this year in January, took an unexpected weekend in at the Inn at Ormsby Hill. I keep tell...

Hi Wentworth. I thought so, but I am planning to make my pilgrimage to VT a week earlier this year, around October 5. It seems like I always miss it due to some reason or another.

Thanks again.

PWT - You are incredible, and just as diligent. Where I live in CT, the leaves are actually about a week away from peak! In fact, my lawn looks like a late October day with all the leaves on it. It definitely must have been the lack of rain, as the colors are basically turning yellow then falling. S...
