Re: Irene - big damage expected

Please let your wife know of all our best wishes, thoughts, and prayers in her behalf. It hits a tender chord with me, I lost my eldest sister to breast cancer 8 yrs. ago this Sept. So much has improved in treatment since then, and continues too. All our best to you both!

Re: LOTS of cool air filtering into the northeast......

CT, Thank you as always for your cheerful outlook. It has indeed been very disstressing watching and reading about all the damage in our beautiful Vermont. Seeing pictures of places we have been so many times, devastated. We are so very thankful all of our friends here are safe, and know that "thing...

Re: A Single Red Maple Leaf...

Dearest CT, You speak to my very soul! I have loved Autumn from my very earliest memories. Perhaps it started because I have a Nov. birthday, or because it ment back to school, Halloween, and the coming Holidays, but it is deeply embedded. Some people have a hard time understanding just how it deepl...

Hope you won't mind if a share here some photos of the wildflowers in Albion Basin, Alta, Utah. My daughter, Abbie, and I took a quick drive up last Thurs. morning(it is 20 min. from my front door). It was still a coool 59 degrees at 9:30 a.m. and the flowers were at peak. I was afraid we had missed...

Re: Looking for a new base...

Now brace yourself, I know it is in NH, but just south of White River down the freeway and just off the exit, is a little town called Bow, NH. The Hampton Inn there is very nice and usually less expensive than the one in White River, and just directly north of the hotel there is a great little resta...

Andy, Thanks for the kind words, as always. I"d like to think I've learned a few things over the years by reading your suggestions and instruction given on the Photo Forum, as well as observing others work here on the forum. There is so much all can learn here to improve the quality of their vacatio...

Re: 2010 Foliage (a bit late, eh?!) - LOTS of images - Day 1

I had the day off today, so I took the time to put together some of my favorite pics from our trip last year. I make no claims to being a "photgrapher", these are but my humble vacations pics, taken with my little point and shoot. They are not just Vermont either, we started in New Hampshire, Vermon...

Re: Predictions of "How Good"?

My guess is that it will be a spectucular season, just because I won't be there this year. Dang it! I can only hope for a similar season in Virginia. Here in Utah we had record snow depths in the mountains, a really wet spring, and a wetter and cooler summer, so far only reaching 100 once. We just h...
