Hi Forum. Thank you for valuable nformation on foliage progress. If possible, could you please comment on state of foliage at Franconia Notch SP / Kank Hwy , on October 11?
Thanks
Most likely past peak by a few days..Franconia Notch might be okay, but higher elevations will be past peak.

Re: Killington Color

Actually, peak last year was Late September. I was supposed to go up with my son, but a rain/wind storm ruined the foliage. They are in moderate drought in Western Maine, similar to last year. I think the drought is making peak early this year and last. Northern Vermont is also in drought. Here in N...

Re: Rainy Day in Vermont

That's one advantage to living an hour away from Southern Vermont, no need to interact with other people while viewing Fall foliage. Really quiet on this forum, looks like covid19 is resurging and keeping long distance traveler's away.

Re: Killington Color

My housing situation is stable right now, so I'll be able to do some foliage viewing this season. I'm planning on going to Mount Snow next week and Killington around October 1st. I'm going to do Skyline Drive with my son, probably the week of Columbus Day. I've never been up Mount Equinox for Fall f...

Re: Happy First Day of Meteorological Fall! 9/1/21

I'm not sure I'm going to be able to contribute much to the forum. My Dad passed away on 7/31 and I lived with him. He had a reverse mortgage on the house and I'm looking at the house being foreclosed sometime in October. I'm disabled and currently looking for housing in Enfield. I'll try to get int...

Southern Connecticut 10-27-20

I went down to New Haven today with my son to check out the Fall foliage. I was expecting decent foliage color, but the area away from the coast is about 50-75% bare. The only color left is the rust/brown color from the Oaks. We drove home via Route 1, Route17, Route 22 and Route 66 back to I-91. We...

Re: Connecticut Fall Foliage 2020

Past peak here is Enfield and going bare. I did a quick drive down to Bloomfield and it's not any better further South. 1-91 in town is about 50% bare. The rain this week will finish off alot of the foliage.

Re: Connecticut Fall Foliage 2020

Rain here this morning and now my area is past peak. Some nice stand alone color in spots, but panorama areas are going bare. What's interesting is how early the Oaks are changing. It's about 10 days early. Right now it's less than 10% still green here.

The backside of Mount Tom yesterday, not the best picture with low lighting levels. This is close to the Oxbow. The green trees are Oaks.

Re: South/Central Massachusetts - Quabbin Reservoir

The Oxbow is a cutoff part of the Connecticut River formed by a flood in 1840. I like the area for it's late season foliage. The background of the Oxbow includes the backside of Mount Tom, which is mostly Oak trees. Unfortunately the marina that I used to take this picture is now roped off and marke...

Here in Enfield, it's going past peak, though it's still colorful in spots. The rain forecast for next week is going to be the end of foliage around here.
