Is Juniper's an okay place to take a (usually) well behaved toddler? I see they have a kids menu, but it also kind of looks like a romantic place from the website.

Can't speak to every year, but last year the Lyndonville/Lake Willoughby areas were very nice around October 3rd. I'm sure they were nice at least a few days before then too. By October 7th or so it was noticeably fading.

Thanks for the report Carol. I'm surprised to see so much green that far north, but I have no point of reference to compare it to. Hard to imagine that those trees could be ablaze in the next week or two. Amazing how quickly it can change.

bogey,
If you send me a private message with your email address, I'll email you the files.

I'd appreciate it if someone else could tell me if they are able to download the CSV and GPX file. It works for me, just want to make sure others are able to.

Thanks ct and Carol. I'm thinking of making a weekend trip up the the NEK next weekend (before the REAL trip :D ). I'm guessing there should be plenty of color by then? Although if anything, sounds like this year is running a bit late?

Hi ct, Yep it was me who posted those pictures. There's a small dirt parking turnout off of 125. From there it's about a 5 minute moderate hike to a viewing platform (really it's the ski lift platform). I took the shots at the bottom in the late afternoon, I think on 10/5/08. Here's my guess at the ...

Aspen, If you're referring to the photos that come up on Google maps, that's sort of "automatic". Those are photos other people have taken and loaded to Google maps. But, you're welcome anyway. :) I hope this helps people find some spots and photos they wouldn't have otherwise. And, I hope nobody ge...

Aspen, I've already praised it in this topic, but NEK's "Loop through the central Northeast Kingdom" is the prettiest drive I've been on in my life. There was one road on there which was ROUGH (passable in an SUV but you had to go about 5 mph to handle all the ruts) but the others were fine. I belie...

Vermont roads GPS locations

All, I've spent some time getting familiar with the search function on this site and Google maps. I've compiled a list of 178 GPS points that may helpful others. They're primarily country roads that have been recommended on this forum, usually by PWT. (Thanks, PWT and everyone else who posted these ...

Miss Lyndonville Diner (Lyndonville)-- greasy and good like a Diner should be. Love this place. Polly's Pancake Parlor (Sugar Hill, NH) The Bean Mexican Eatery (Manchester) Farmer's Diner (Quechee) -- I'm not an "everything must be organic" kind of guy but they do it very well with local food. Delic...

Wow ct, thanks for posting that list. I had about half of them marked already. The rest will be added to the trusty GPS. 8) This one part confuses me: "and again facing west on Route 66 at Route 89 crossroads at District 4's Randolph Gorge entrance parking lot". I saw pwt54 mention the same spot. Do...
