Re: October 2006 Photos

Foliage with snow would be cool -- especially if you could get a sunny day right afterward. By the time we get snow (than the lord) here, the leaves will be long gone. Note much elevation in Saginaw, MI

Re: Melancholy

Abby: I think winter pictures would certainly be a possibility. I am hoping that posts of year round photography appears on the photography section and I believe that Tim suggested upoading photos as a possiblity when he announced the board. I and the Tiger appeciate the support. I am a Red Sox fan ...

Melancholy

This forum will mostly go into "hibernation" until late August, 2007. Last year, having found it, I would check in from time to time to see that nobody posts here (for good reason -- there is no "foliage" for the winter months, and its monotone green during spring and summer). During the season, I a...

Re: I'll be in Vermont ready for leaves on Oct 21

I know this is late. In the event you have a chance to log on before you start tomorrow a.m., my two cents: I wouldn't expect much color in Waterbury or Stowe by this weekend. When I was there (several times between Oct 7 and 15) it was near or past "peak." Because of the "uneven" (to steal PWT's te...

Re: October 2006 Photos

You have posted some very beautiful photos Andy [Smile] Thanks for the kind words. I see the time of your post. It may be that you are just to bleary-eyed to see them clearly? I was tempted to tell you to get a life, surfing the net at 3:00 a.m., but then noted your profession and assumed you proba...

October 2006 Photos

For those who may not have seen my post over on the foliage forum, I posted a brief report of my travels through much of the state of Vermont, and uploaded several photographs taken during that period.

My Vermont Trip

I posted some photos in the October, 2006 Section of the foliage contributors forum. I arrived in Burlington at about noon on October 7, and started my foliage photography excursion in Stowe. Finished up as the sun went down just south of Burlington on the 14th. My rental car receipt reports that I ...

I would hit the Addison County area around and north of Middlebury and north to Burlington. There were still good colors there last night

Re: Dont go to ... areas in South-central- west Vermont

I drove 1500 miles between Oct 7 and Oct 14. Color was unpredictable and spotty. UmDterp, I am surprised by your comments. I drove from Fairfax through Monkton, down to Bristol, eventually catching Route 7 and driving it all the way down to Arlington. On the return trip, I came up 30 to Middlebury a...

Re: Northwestern VT Report

PWT: You are right. There wasn't a peak in that area. I just arrived home from a week, staying in Bakersfield. The leaves on the maples (much like many other parts of the state) dried up and dropped (or were blown off) before the others. Colors were kind of muted with lots of yellows and bronzes cha...
