Thanks Andy. I think the May Pond shot is my personal favorite. That was actually taken a morning or two after our outing. I came for sunrise, got some great clouds but they never lit up. But after the sun rose a little more it turned into a spectacular blue sky day with a bit of mist rising. Glad I...

Hey Andy, Yes it was hard work this year. Last year I was definitely more productive, but still got a handful of real keepers so I'm happy. My best pictures mostly were not foliage shots, but sunrise/sunset type shots. Ones that I thought would be my favorites were not, and some sleepers turned into...

Photos from my trip

All, Here are some of my favorite shots from my trip. We spent 10/2 - 10/7 mostly in the NEK. I met up with some folks from the board for sunrise and had a great time. (More on that at the photography forum.) We also went to the Danville Autumn on the Green, which was a highlight. It's such a great ...

Carol's Barton workshop

I have to post a few shots from Carol's "workshop", as Al called it. Actually, it was more of an informal gathering but it was in Carol's corner of Vermont. She took us to some really nice spots, and I got some of my best photos of the trip on this jaunt. I'll post those in a different topic, but he...

Nice job Mark! Must have been exciting to photograph Vermont the first time. Even though it wasn't an ideal season for us photographers, you did a nice job finding color. So when you come back it will be even better. :-) I really like the Moss Glens Falls shot. My favorite though is the Vermont Suga...

Great job Andy! Really like the first shot of the Stowe Hollow barn. That's my favorite. Nice composition!

I'd be curious how often the Vermonters on this board see moose. I too feel like I should have seen one by now!

I had a really great time that day as well. Thanks for showing us your corner of Vermont. :-)

Last year it seemed the NEK was the best place to see foliage in Vermont. This year it sounds like it's elsewhere. Driving around the Lyndonville area Saturday morning, assessing the damage from the storm, I was very disappointed. Thought I wasn't going to get any good photos and that the storm had ...

Burlington/Middlebury/Rt 30 report 10/6

On the trip back south today, we drove from Burlington down to Route 4 via routes 7 and 30. I think the color in this part of the state is promising. I'd estimate it's about 40% changed, 60% green. Which, after driving through the route 2 and Stowe areas the day before, was a sight for sore eyes. Li...

sreek, Last year we drove the a loop from Littleton. 93 South to 112 West (the Kancamagus Hwy) to 302 North. Really amazing drive. Different than Vermont -- more mountainous and dramatic, whereas I think most of vermont is more pretty and serene. Sugar Hill Road (Rt 117) is also very pretty. The Sug...

Hi Rajana,
I've emailed you the files. Those actual points on the roads aren't meaningful, I just picked a midway point on roads that are supposed to be nice. It's meant to help you find nice roads nearby, not necessarily to bring you to one particular spot.

In David Middleton's Photographer's Guide to Vermont, he mentions the bikepath from Colchester Point to South Hero island as a nice sunset spot. He also mentions Mt Philo.

Funny pwt, because I've thought about how great it would be to know Vermont and it's roads like you do. But generally I think you're right. Last year I was considering moving to the Franconia area of New Hampshire for a job. I imagined myself hopping around the White Mtns and the NEK all year, photo...
