2 Questions I Need Answered Late in the Week
I kinda figure that you'll do this anyway, but I want to get these questions out there now. My two main leaf-peeping days will be Sunday and Monday next week. 1. Do the Peacham/Mack Mountain Rd. area and the entire Bayley-Hazen Rd. areas still have enough leaves to warrant a trip? 2. Is the area aro...

I hurt for those who might have planned for this to be their big weekend in Vermont. But I'm ecstatic about next weekend's forecast!

Forecast for Columbus Day weekend
Every computer model I can find shows the same forecast for the Saturday-Monday holiday weekend...spectacular weather. Brilliant sunshine, no rain, temps from the low 40's to mid 60's.
Would love to hear from our expert, WXMAN to see if he concurs with my uneducated efforts.

Re: Trip Anxiety....
Here's a peek into my psyche right now. This year's trip will be way too short...I screwed up and waited too long to make airline reservations (learned my lesson!), so I, my wife, and her sister will arrive on Sunday morning, Oct. 8, in Hartford and head back to Texas Tuesday evening, Oct. 11. So ou...

Was the Boston Red Sox bear holding a gun to his head? (uh, the team hasn't exactly been doing well in Sept.)

Re: HAPPY AUTUMN 2011!!!!!
Hey, WXMAN: Please hold that high pressure over thru the 2nd weekend in October. I looked at the GFS for the 9th today and it showed a storm exiting New England. We've got only two full days of leaf peeping in our trip this year, the 9th and the 10th. Need good weather!

Question for WXMAN 76
It looks to me like there will be a series of tropical waves pummeling the east coast in the next two weeks. Do you agree? If it is cloudy and rainy in Vermont the next two weeks, does this affect the foliage at all or is the color dependent more on the timing of frosts and freezes? Tim Perkins Rock...

Andy: Yeah, I once rented that 300 monster to do some aviation photography...I know whereof you speak. Thanks for the input! I'll pack the 2.8 and count it as much needed exercise.

Glass Question
I'm a new owner of a Canon 70-200 f 2.8 lens. I also own the Canon 70-200 f4. I don't want to bring them both to Vermont on my trip...I've got to keep the gear bag as light as possible since I'll be lugging it through airports and on to planes. The former is rather heavy, the latter rather light. So...

Off Topic - Rain in Texas!
I haven't been on this forum as long as most, but long enough to know that several of you really did pray for rain relief for Texas. I'm proud to report 1.4" fell at our place this evening. Of course, it wasn't statewide, but a lot of the state got very beneficial rain. Not only does this put at lea...
