Well, it's official...it snowed! We're in Waitsfield and I would say there is more than an inch out there and it's still going. My daughter is beside herself she is so happy.

We didn't go past the farm, but maybe we will before we leave Thursday. I am just in love with that road. Definitely do the carriage ride next time CT. It was expensive but worth it. So gorgeous and the owners were so friendly and enjoyable to chat with. They were great with our daughter as well. Sh...

Thanks! Called Town and Country and they told me not to worry about it if the car was acting normally. Just had work done at home before we left and they said the light was probably triggered by that. Good to know where they are though just in case. So far so good. (Knock on wood!)

Common Rd. in Waitsfield - WOW!

We're in Waitsfield for a week and it is definitely peak here. Aside from all of the great activities, restaurants, etc. the foliage is definitely a focal part of what we're enjoying so far. Everywhere we drive is gorgeous. But today took the cake. We took Bridge St. off Rt. 100 to Warren Rd. to Com...

Mechanic suggestion please?

Ok Vermonters...we are staying in Waitsfield...just arrived last night. On the trip here from NY our check engine light came on. No visible or auditory problems so far but I'd prefer to have someone check it out so we don't get stuck on a back road with no cell reception somewhere. We have a Honda O...

Gorgeous photos! We'll be in Waitsfield in 3 more days. I can't wait! The colors are nice at home here in NY...about a week or 2 earlier than usual so I think we're actually going to be in VT while it's peak here at home.

Was the pumpkin people maple store display up on Bragg Hill?

I'll have to ask my parents...I could have sworn there was a Story Land in Vermont that we went to. Maybe they trekked over to NH with us too!

Oooh. Thanks for all of the great info. CT. I looked at the Green Cup website and I have to say it sounds like where we've been to but it looks like they're redecorated the dining room which I have to admit makes me a little sad. I loved how relaxed and hodge podge it used to look. Thanks also for t...

Does anyone remember Storyland?

I think that's what it was called. I just posted on another thread about our trip to Santa's Workshop on Whiteface in NY a couple of years ago and I started thinking about my own childhood. We went to Santa's Workshop as well, but we also went to a couple of theme parks in VT. My favorite was one th...

We live in Central, NY and a couple of times we have come to Vermont via the Adirondacks for various reasons and it just adds to the splendor getting those views in as well. Going through the area where Paul Smith's is was gorgeous when we did it a few years ago. Two years ago we came via Whiteface ...

Yo Yo Ma playing Bach is fantastic. Really like Fleet Foxes and am excited to listen to them this fall...seems like perfect music for the season. And if I were alone, which I will not be, I would love to listen to some Garrison Keillor.

I think we have to pass Bragg Hill Rd. to get to the house we are renting on Beech Tree. The App Gap road is gorgeous. We've done that drive a couple of times and got a few good shots back in 2004 I think it was. Haven't done Common Rd. before though. Thanks! I love Waitsfield too but it's our first...

For your #2 request I would take a look at ctyanky's thread on Vermont Church Suppers. She mentions one in Richmond on the 7th...that's not too far from where you'll be. Sitting down to eat a chicken pie supper with locals is definitely a way of getting a look at the community.
