Re: Any Rt 7 updates?

I did 140, 153 today. Things looked good over by the Merk forest (sp), but the higher elevations of 100 around ludlow were past peak. I would stay lower but some west facing hillsides still look ok.

Congratulations. I am sure the VT dept of tourism is thrilled. The photographers at Jenne farm, maybe a little less so. Good luck with it. Love the cover shot.

We have been using the western portion for years. It opened just as we started going up every other weekend. Very nice.

Re: My VERMONT LIFE Autumn 2012 Issue Arrived Today!!!

Thanks for the tip! I have watched Vermont Life decline from a super magazine to basically an advertising brochure so I think I will switch. Looked at the sample issue and it was better.

Well, I started the generator last night, so that is the best way I know to keep the storms away. Now where is that generator cord....

Re: Special guest this weekend....... Autumn!!

WXMAN, love your forecasts!! I almost went into meteorology as a major. Did Geology instead (long story). Things are looking good for a good fall for those of us who look forward to this all year. I hope a hurricane does not muck it all up, but if it is early Sept, we will be OK. Got to go out and s...

Re: My Fall 2011 Album

Great job Carol. I must say I might look forward to your album more than actaully driving around looking at leaves in person! All in all, this was just an OK year in retrospect in some places, but your work is inspiring.

Soth Central Vermont Suggestions for this weekend

Wanted to get some route suggestions for South Central Vermont this weekend since it has been such a variable year. Will be starting from Chester VT and wanted to get the advice from all the folks who have "been out there" over the last week. Should be a perfect time for all. Looking for a couple of...

Great to see CT and BM on the foliage train! Glad you got to do Popple Dungeon, what a project that must have been to get it passable. Looks like a good long season this year with lots of better weather ahead. It has gotten a lot colder in the last few hours, now it really feels like fall!

Chester Report

Popple Dungeon Road is open! Route 11 near Andover road is still one lane, but not for long. These crews are awesome! What they have done in weeks is beyond belief. Popple Dungeon was washed out in many places and they fixed them all. Oh yes, the leaves. Things look about 1/3 turned in Chester with ...

Re: HAPPY AUTUMN 2011!!!!!

All the best to the leaf peepers. I was coming out of work today and smelled the smell of fall. We don't talk about it much here, but in addtion to the leaves, the smells of fall are intoxicating. The ferns in the forest, leaves giving off the aroma of change, the woodstove burning, apple cider on t...
