Re: Early Signs of Fall..........

once things get rolling, how fast will they typically turn? Teaxas Aggie it depends on the weather, sunny cool days are good, rainy days are not. This year could be an unusual one. As of 4 or 5 days ago, everything was green across the whole state, and it was looking like it was going to be at leas...

Re: Just Arrived in Bennington. Where should we head for Foilage thru Thurs?

Four years ago, you would have timed it perfectly, but the Vermont Falls are later these days--I would try Killington and the Northeast Kingdom up thru Rt 114 from Lyndonville thru Island pond into Pittsburg NH(where its 34 degrees right now)

Re: Vermont (Stowe) and NH (White Mt and Suger hill) 5th Oct OR 13th Oct?

No, don't change your date. I live near Stowe and the colors are starting now. Foliage season is running normal. When someone mentions Sugar Hill, NH I start dreaming about Polly's Pancake Parlor. :D How is foliage season 'running normal'? From 1997 to 2014, the NEK was at peak by Sept 21st, that's...

Re: Seeking route suggestions from Portsmouth, NH to Stowe, VT on 10/8

This is the route we take FROM Stowe to NH:- Rt 302 from Montpelier VT going east into NH, but make sure first to take Rt 232 in Vermont, a pretty road, and take that short hike up Owl's Head and Kettle Pond(great view!), then continue onto Rt 302 and pickup Interstate 93 in NH going south to Rt 112...

Hello friends! I’ve been a long-time board peeper and have so appreciated all of the great tips and recommendations you have all provided over the years. My husband and I have been making the trip to Vermont over the past 8 years and got married in Stowe during the beautiful 2014 foliage year—it wa...

Re: Vermont (Stowe) and NH (White Mt and Suger hill) 5th Oct OR 13th Oct?

I have read the forum since last couple of years and it is really very helpful. We are planning to take our parents for first time to Vermont and NH for fall trip. We are thinking to visit during 5th-8th Oct (Columbus Day weekend) but with still so much green debating to push the trip by 1 week - 1...
