Re: Planning NE honeymoon next Oct.

Your timetable for hitting Vermont is good, but you maybe a little early for the Woodstock area. If that happens, make allowance to head north up I-91 to the Northeast Kingdom. As you travel the highway north, you will see the foliage change...there is usually about a week's difference between the n...

Re: SW Vermont report 10/13

I am amazed by what is happening in the Northeast Kingdom, or maybe i should say ...not happening. There is still some good color here and wonderful picture taking opportunities with the clear sky on Wednesday and Thursday. The best bets are secluded spots like roads buried in valleys that make a ki...

Re: Anyone know if there are any festivals this weekend.

You might check the Scenes of Vermont Events Calendar. This is an edited events calendar where we go through and pick the best stuff going on..not just everything. Also, you will find that there is usually a link to more information for each event. Please check it out. You may find what you are look...

Meet PWT

Hello everyone: If you are interested in meeting our knowledgeable moderator, PWT, I have just put up an interview with him on Foliage Vermont. The movie is 13MB in Windows Media Player and slightly less in the QuickTime version. You will see that PWT's face is a bit over exposed in the beginning. T...

Rain in the south?

Just spoke to someone in Lebanon (around noon on Tuesday). They said it was raining hard and some of the leaves were falling off the trees. Would be interested to know what people are seeing in southern and central Vermont? Is the rain doing much harm? Here in the Kingdom we are at peak and although...

Re: This forum rocks!

Hello: Those foliage shots are marvelous! I wonder if you would be interested in allowing us to run a slide show of them on www.foliage-vermont.com? With attribution, of course! I would like to run them in a Flash presentation with possibly an audio commentary. Could you provide a script so we could...

Re: Am I to late?

Your travel dates should be fine for southern and central Vermont...northern Vermont will likely be passed peak. Keep checking our foliage reports on www.foliage-vermont.com and this forum for the latest color reports. Also keep an eye on the weather. We have had lots of rain and wind :) but all the...

Re: Will I see colours?

Your best color is likely to be in northern Vermont. I'd plan visiting places like East Burke in the Northeast Kingdom and specifically the Willoughby Lake area and the Craftsbury area. Stowe may be pretty good by then too. You should have an open window of about one week where it will be close to p...

Re: History of Peak Fall in Vermont

Hello: The information you need is on http://www.foliage-vermont.com No one can say what the peak day will be in a particular area. This past season saw a slower start to foliage, but then it caught up and was right on schedule. Give yourself a two week window and plan your trip with some flexibilit...

Foliage Pictures for slide show

Hello everyone! We've noticed that some of you have been posting some really nice pictures on this board. It gave us an idea; if some of you would like to send in your best pictures, we'll make a slide show of perhaps 15 or 20 of them and put them in a forum members area on www.foliage-vermont.com. ...

Re: Visit to Killington 10/17

For Cheeses and Maple Syrup try the following: Sugarbush Farm between Quechee and Woodstock Crowley Cheese in Headville, on the road between Rutland and Ludlow. (I love their smoked cheddar!) Taftsville Country Store in Taftsville, between Quechee and Woodstock. They all do mail order. There are oth...

Re: Flash Foliage Map

Stan: The VT State foliage color map and our map clearly showed a peak color indication for the Mount Snow area on October 2nd.We use the state information as do other news outlets to assemble our own reports and maps The indication was obviously wrong. But, having said this, I must remind you that ...
