Re: My Photos from this year

An excellent collection of images Carol. Why haven't you included any shots from all of the gloriously sunny days we had this past week  My favorites are "Windswept Sugar House" and "Morning Sky May Pond". You did very well considering the weather we had to work with in 2018. Was "Morning Sky M...

Re: NEK Report 10/8

Could that be Kirby Mountain Road out of Victory Ed? ctyanky, no this is on Brook Road in S. Kirby, just slightly to the east of Kirby Mountain Road. i am heading home to Massachusetts on Wednesday morning. I have no idea of the status of the foliage progression in the Quabbin area, but I plan to g...

Re: Woodstock/Pomfret

Further ripening of color here may be interrupted by leaf drop, which has started sooner than usual. Some bare branches are showing. The rain forecast for Thursday may accelerate the leaf drop, so if you intend to photograph in this area, best to do so before Thursday if possible. minnesotaman, I s...

Indeed, he was closer than I would have liked. I was glad he took off into the woods, I much prefer no pictures to a destroyed car.

Re: Driving from Boston to Stowe Tomorrow

Everything north and east of Saint Johnsbury is past peak. Groton State forest was peak yesterday (10/7), but on 10/7 and 10/8 we had significant rain, wind, and leaf drop, so Groton may be moving past peak by 1/9. GSF could be iffy. Peacham was past peak on 10/8. There was great color, (almost peak...

NEK Report 10/8

Today (10/8) was very overcast and foggy in the NEK. Color around Saint Johnsbury is peak to slightly past peak. With the wind and rain today, the foliage for Saint J and north is probably done for. There were many trees with bare limbs and lots of leaf drop. I ended up spending this morning photogr...

Re: The Queen of Rt. 100

Great shot of the Falls, Ed! We were there around 4 this afternoon... I shoulda stood further back & to the left as it looks like you did. Color was great from Stockbridge up to Waitsfield. Standup, I shot Moss Glen from across the far side of the highway, using a telephoto lens. At 8:00 am this wa...

Re: The Queen of Rt. 100

Hello Ed, thanks for clarifying your analogy. When I was at Moss Glenn Falls on Thursday, it was also gorgeous, just like your beautiful photo. Thank you for sharing! Where is Honey Hollow Falls? Did you get to hike to Owls Head? I think peak is coming there by now or in a couple of days ...

The Queen of Rt. 100

Here she is, the Queen of Vermont's Rt. 100. And no, I don't mean ctyanky... Moss Glen Falls in Granville is the Queen of Rt. 100, and she was all decked out in her robes of gold today (10/7). With a lot of rain this morning I drove to Moss Glen, Warren Falls, and Honey Hollow Falls. The rain really...

Re: Northeast Kingdom Update 10/5

minnesotaman I would say Ricker Pond is at peak color, as is Noyes Pond. I think either or both would make for a good sunrise shoot. It was a pleasure meeting you yesterday. I am heading to Jobs Pond this morning for sunrise.

Re: NEK Report 10/3

ctyanky, I agree, Wow just wow !!!!

The NEK is just a color explosion. I was not in Vermont in 2012 or 2016 which everyone raves about, how does 2018 compare to that so far?
