Re: NEK Question

This may be too late, but it is open, but is a class 4 road and is narrow, rutted in places, and had some rocks. I was up there today. If you have a high clearance truck or suv, you will be fine. Wouldn't attempt it in a regular vehicle

Re: NEK-Need Recs on Places to Visit

I have spent that past several days in NEK. Color is less developed in Peacham, but as you go up in Elevation, it gets better. Mack's Mountain Road between Peacham and Danville is very good, with lots of reds and oranges and yellows (I won't comment on percentage of "peak" because I don't consider "...

Re: Lake Willoughby Best Viewed Date

LOL, I know there are some high views of the lake and I'll let Tim, or somebody who knows exactly how to get there give you directions. BUT .... I don't think that's what this is. I would bet this is a shot from Tim's Drone :-)

Re: Foliage Report from the NEK 10/01/21

Hope you are kidding :-) . You can't sit inside just because of a few raindrops. If it helps, the more "local" forecasters, are showing gradually better as the days go by, with most of the rain being south after Sunday, and even Sunday and Monday being on and off rain. Take a rain coat and hopefully...

Re: Visitor from California - help needed to plan foliage viewing starting from NEK then going south

Prabal: A couple of thoughts: 1. One of your locations is labeled Barton Road Farm. Maybe just a typo, but to avoid confusion, while it is in Barton, the road is actually Burton (with a "u") Road :-). 2. You have East Orange on your list (I see a lot of locations covered in our book, and bet that is...

Re: Border restrictions are kept in place

Agree, Tim. Not just silly - STUPID, especially since Canada is allowing U.S. citizens in and has always been a good friend to us. Also, there is a lot of commerce between Canada and Vermont that is being stifled. I am sure they have some reason (one might be that the shear numbers of UK travelers m...

By the way, the eBook ("sticky post" near the top of this foliage forum has detailed directions and representative photos of all the stuff I mentioned)

Re: Visitor from California - help needed to plan foliage viewing starting from NEK then going south

While, as Ed says, it is difficult to predict foliage development, given what I am hearing about the warmer weather and offhand predictions of a later season, I think you have made excellent choices. I will be in that area from Oct 2 - 10 and think that will probably be the best areas of color for t...

Re: Why is aperture backwards??

Perhaps the simplest answer is because it is a ratio or a fraction and not a numerical "size" number :-). Lots of info out there if you google it :-)

Hey Ken: I was having trouble posting to any of the linked areas I have. So instead, it is now done as an attachment (first time I have posted an image since that feature was added) :-)

Re: Fall Foliage and Vermont Life Magazine

Tim: I joined here in 2005, and shortly thereafter, began seeing your images during the foliage season. I have watched you grow from your point and shoot style camera and nice images, to a very talentedand insightful photographer. I am not sure about how things progressed up until they stopped publi...

Re: Fall Foliage and Vermont Life Magazine

Hi Ken: Thanks for the reply. You have just a couple years on me (1975 graduation - serious photography, with my dad's Asahiflex in 1976) :-). That Yashica gave me a wave of nostalgia. My first was this one, just slighly before the Yashica's time:
