Re: HELP! We are here...color is not
Bennington and surrounding areas were awesome this morning. But if I were you I would go north: Rutland, Middlebury, and route 30 in general. Is the best part of VT right now: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=3952 I was in Jamaica/Townshend yesterday and I agree, very disappointing. So I headed north to Rutland ...

Re: North Central Massachusetts & CRV 10-14-18
After MT Greylock (definitely too early for the view), we drove the Mohawk and we saw nice color between North Adams and Florida.
Then, after the (beautiful) bridges of Flowers we also drove 112 and 9 to Northampton.
To my untrained eyes Rout 112 was actually beautiful!

OMG
In one night everything changed!
The hills around Bennington are all red and orange!!
The morning light makes them gorgeous.
I can’t believe how much it changed from yesterday

If you are looking for foliage in VT tomorrow I suggest going to Rutland. Been there this afternoon (thanks minnieb for the suggestion!) and it is very nice right now. We took a back road called notch road and it was colorful, with reds and oranges! In South Vermont there is color on Route 7 between...

Re: Leaf-drop after heavy rain today
There are very nice colors on route 30 between Manchester and Townshend.
On the other hand the hills around Manchester and Dorset are all past peak.

Re: Leaf-drop after heavy rain today
Ok so from Manchester you would rather drive north to Mt Tabor and Rutland rather than going to Townshend lake

Re: Leaf-drop after heavy rain today
Thanks for the update! How was Townshend? I will be in that area in the afternoon.
I’m in Bennington right now and it’s everything either green or bare.

Re: Leaf-drop after heavy rain today
I have spoken over the phone with Mount Greylock's rangers. The good news is very limited leaf drop after this morning's wind. On the other hand, they say color is <50%. They said that the next couple of nights, that will be pretty chilly, might accelerate the color dramatically. I'll be there on Su...

Re: Leaf-drop after heavy rain today
Thanks for the heads up and the suggestions. I am indeed more worried about the wind today than the rain yesterday.
Wind is so strong in Philly this morning that green trees are dropping plenty of leaves.
It is what it is...
