Re: State of color
CT, The forum as been so helpful to me, I'm happy to pitch in. I didn't go to Robert Frost's cabin. I know there was something else related to him and I did pass it on my way to the trail, but I didn't go there, because I didn't know what it was. I'll have to try it again sometime. Have you ever don...

Re: State of color
I ventured out today, I took Rt. 89 N. to exit 3. A lot of brown and green along 89. Took 107S to 100N then 125W to Ripton and made a stop at the Robert Frost Interpretive trail. I'd always wanted to go there, so thought I'd take a shot. Well, not much color at all until Rt 125. There was spotty col...

Re: State of color
I can say I've seen a lot of the green brown green/yellow to brown going on in Woodstock and Quechee. I hit up a couple of co-workers last night that live around Chester to see how things look out their way and they said it's the same. Not much color yet, but leaves are just turning brown and droppi...

Re: Killington Color
Yeah, Jeff Folger posted that it was looking good around Rangeley right now. Well, that was over the weekend. About a week early for that area. Usually Oct. 4 - 6 is peak. I have to figure out where to go for good color this weekend. I was just went up through Bradford, VT and over to North Haverhil...

Re: Killington Color
I drove through Killington today on my way back from western PA. Mind you, i was only on Rt. 4 and it was around 1:30 - 2:30 in the afternoon with not too many clouds, so the lighting wasn't the best for foliage. That said, there is a little bit of color coming on the mountains, but it still has qui...

Re: Connecticut Fall Foliage 2020
Has anyone been through MA? Just wondering how it's looking there. I've been wanting to go to Rock House Reservation for a while, but want to go when the color is good.

Re: Cloudland - Woodstock area Sept 23
I went to Cloudland Road and the Woodstock/Barnard/Bridgwater area today and found some nice color. 100A was very good as was 100 south from the 100A junction. I was in Bellows Falls on Monday and it wasn't very good, still a lot of green, other trees past. So, I wasn't expecting much and was very p...

Re: When to See the Full Harvest Moon in Vermont! Where will you be?
They said on WMUR last night that there hasn't been a full moon on Halloween since the 1930s. That was surprising.

Re: Central/Southern Vermont 10-1-20
I went to the White Mountains yesterday and have a similar story. The only mountains that still looked decent were Mt. Washington & Cannon Mountain. Crawford Notch was still decent color. Most of the rest had quite a bit of leaf drop or turned brown. I tried Campton, NH, too, but the mountains/hills...

Re: Color Popping in NH
I hiked Ascutney 3 weeks ago and did the fire tower, it was quite a view. There is also a great view from the hang glider platform that we went to after the tower. A friend sent me a photo of Ascutney last night. It still looks pretty green. I had back surgery 2 weeks ago, so hiking to the fire towe...

Color Popping in NH
In Lebanon we are still pretty green, but geez like in the last day or two Enfield and points south have gone gangbusters. I drove down Rt. 89 to go to Newport this afternoon and the color on Rt. 89 was stunning. Perhaps the brightest I've ever seen. I think the sun was hitting it just right yet dif...

Re: Foliage color in the NEK
I was in NEK today. I didn't go quite all the way to Newport. I was in Lyndonville, Burke, Charleston and Westmore. I found the color to be spotty. There was some good color along 114 in spots. I tried to go up the scenic road for Burke Mountain, but it was closed. They were doing some kind of work ...
