Re: What a weird foliage season
The colors in those pictures are amazing, but you still notice alot of green leaves on those trees even though some have dropped. It has been a really strange season here as well, the colors started changing in the higher elevations late Sept. as normal. Then the first week end in Oct we had a sudde...

It has a nice boardwalk around the lake and we like to go up and walk. Well it was a beautiful evening and the sun was just setting. We came ar...

First of all let me say how much I have enjoyed reading all the post this morning of the CT Hurricane adventure, and E pictures! I am grinning from ear to ear. I could almost smell the Cold Hollow Cider Mill from here! :) Here are a few suggestions for those of us that can't be there. I usually go t...

Cross the covered bridge and takes a stroll thru the neighborhoods, it's quiet and the homes and beautifuly maintained. The Billings Farm and Museum just east of Woodstock is fun too. And a ...

Re: President Calvin Coolidge Inspiring Speech
Apsen, Thanks for posting the link to that speech. I remember reading it when visiting the Coolidge homestead in Plymouth, and was moved by it both times. I trace my ancestors to Vermont and would like to think there is a little of a Vermonter in me, and hopefully in everyone!

Re: Full Harvest Moon 2011!
Took a walk last night at 10 p.m. with my son & daughter and thought of you all, sleeping snug and sound as we strolled under the bright Harvest Moon. It was a beautiful cool evening here. Those cool temps have finally arrived, 78 the high for the week with night time temps in the mid to low 50's. I...

Re: Have the trees and leaves survived?
I think you would be fine to head straight up. Our first trip we flew into NYC and headead up about 6 p.m. You need to consider the time change, it will be only 3p.m. when you arrive L.A. time. But of cousre it depends on how tried you think you will feel. Google Maps shows it to be a 2hour and 10 m...

Beautiful Art of Vermont
I just returned from spending a beautiful day with one of my daughters at Swiss Days in Midway UT. I had the chance to visit with local artist Robert Duncan, about beautiful Vermont. He has done several paintings of the Peacham and surrrounding area's. I purchased three prints, "Fall in the Kingdom"...
