Re: Peak reports
Viag: thanks for the reply. I like your definitions :) . I have been shooting since 1975, when I was living and attending college in Vermont. If you are on Facebook, and have seen the Page, "Vermont by a Vermonter," that is John Knox, my college math professor and original inspiration and teacher of...

Re: Advice to first-time VT visitor - 1 week itinerary?
Agree 100% with mmvt! Unless you like crowds and touristy things (shopping, etc.) avoid both Stowe and Woodstock. If you are looking for a taste of the real "Vermont" and some quiet countryside, opt for further away. For example Waitsfield is only 20 mins south on Route 100 from Stowe and is a much ...

Re: Red leaves
Part of the reason for the "lack" of reds is timing. Another part is the fact that unfortunately, Vermont Maple trees have been accosted with a "rust" disease over a few of the past years, causing them to turn brown and fall early. In my experience the maples tend to turn earlier than other species ...

Re: Peak reports
Hello Viajero465: First of all, welcome to our forum!! Reading your post, I know you are already somewhat familiar with Vermont. I did not see in the post where you were only going to visit in 2020? Are you a photographer? I found this forum almost 15 years ago, when planning a photography trip to V...

Re: Can we get some Vermont photography going again?
EDIT: LOL. It appears I should read my own sign-off  . Mr. R appears to have been a spammer and I believe he was politely (or perhaps not :D ) invited to leave. Hi Mr R: First, welcome to our forums! I hope that in spite of the echos in the hallway :D , you will stick around for the fall, wh...

Re: End of a Fall Foliage Vacation for a lifetime
Looking forward to your photos. Thanks for the kind words about the book. Through 2 editions now, it has been a labor of love (certainly won't get us on the "Best Sellers" list :-( ). Finding good scenics can be a lot of work and we have been happy to share some of our knowledge. Hope you come back ...

MM: Did you keep gps coordinates, or can you find your way back to the spot where you were "lost"? Looks like a great area to "find" again

Re: Question about property access
Yep. MMVT hit the nail on the head. It is really all about being courteous and respectful. The old, lifetime Vermonters are generally very friendly, helpful and welcoming folks. But use common sense. All of the iconic images of that Peacham Scene (including Arnold Kaplan's originally famous images) ...

Re: Northeast Kingdom Destinations
Hi Ed: Due to many other obligations, I have unfortunately not made it to Vermont as frequently as I used to. I will be officially retiring in 2019 and hope to have more flexibility to just jump in my car and drive during the foliage season, hopefully beginning in 2019 - maybe 2020. So - will be loo...

Re: Traveling to Burlington the second week in October to shoot photos/drone video anyone want to shoot leaves?
Hi Chris: I won't be traveling to Vermont this year, or you could "hitch a ride" with me. BM may want to weigh in on this, but I wouldn't think Uber is going to be a great alternative for you. Most of Vermont is very rural and the distances are great (my friend, Rich and I coined the term "Vermont m...

Re: The Color is here!
One thing to note in the Peacham images: There are a LOT of bare trees. I suspect these are the Maples and it sounds like that is going to be the rule around Northern Vermont this year. That will make colors more orange and yellow and some would say "dull." From the looks of the Killington shots, it...
