I'm not far from Pomfret. I am not positive, but I believe that barn is right near Hewitts Corners. All of Pomfret and North Pomfret are well worth exploring. Check out Joe Ranger Road. Old Kings Highway, and Cloudland Road.

I did go through Peacham today also. For some reason, I have always found Peacham to be up to a week behind Groton, even though they are less then 10 miles apart. There was some nice color in Peacham, but it is still a few days away. It should be good next weekend, and I will definitely be there one...

You should be hitting some nice peak color! I am not totally familiar with the Barton area. Any of the small back roads in the NE Kingdom are usually worth it. I am from Tunbridge. Went out today (26th) to bring my new pup grouse hunting, and made a foliage ride out of it also. This is the earliest I have seen this much color in many years. We are at least a week ahead of normal here in Tunbridge. I expect approaching peak by next weekend.

I much prefer the verticle. The foreground is a bit dark for my taste, but there is detail to be seen there. Nicely compossed!

Fax - Good point about checking all three colors of the histogram. Often you will be blowing one color, and not the others, which may, or may not be important for your particular shot.

I have confirmed many times that my body has a natural 2 degree tilt!
