10/2 Report
Just a report from my morning travels today. I started at Peacam around sunrise. Peacham was OK. The larger maples in town had dropped most their leaves, but the hillsides looked nice. There was one tree I photographed last year around the 6th that was full and vibrant then. Today there was not one ...

We had a lot of heavy rain here in Tunbridge yesterday, along with high winds last night. Woke this morning to more hard rain with no signs of letting up. Just looking at the hillsides around the house, I would estimate 40 - 50% of the leaves are gone. Hopefully this blows off today and the weekend ...

I did go through Peacham today also. For some reason, I have always found Peacham to be up to a week behind Groton, even though they are less then 10 miles apart. There was some nice color in Peacham, but it is still a few days away. It should be good next weekend, and I will definitely be there one...

You should be hitting some nice peak color! I am not totally familiar with the Barton area. Any of the small back roads in the NE Kingdom are usually worth it. Check out Pudding Hill, and Darling Hill Roads around Lyndonville, and any of the small roads off of those. The George King Road in Sutton i...

Took a Ride Today! Sept 26th
I have a new pup (4 1/2 months) I have been training for grouse hunting, so I decided to get up early and do some grouse hunting in Groton, and then head up towards Burke to see how the color is, and shnap a few shots. I haven't seen so much color this early in years! And the color is looking good t...

Do any of you real photographers have that " I'm an artist and I'll put the horizen any damn place I feel like" mood once in a while ? Or is it just us picture takers. I paid good money for my artistic license and plan to get my money's worth. I am a firm believer in "Rules Are Meant to Broke...

Speaking of books! One of my favorite photographers is Art Wolf. He has a book he co-wrote back in 1993 called "The Art of Photographing Nature". It pre-dates digital for sure, but I learned more about composition in that one book than everything else I had ever read. I highly recommend it! http://w...
