Re: Posting photos here

Hi mmvt: I have had various success depending on where I link to. For a while, my Flickr site worked well. Then all of a sudden it didn't (my research suggested it was Flickr's issue). It doesn't work well from my SmugMug site either. I eventually set up a blog on WordPress's free blogging site (I n...

Re: Photography as a "business"

Wait. What do you mean Al? People would actually sue you? No way. You are too nice a guy. Margy: Both Al and I have sales outlets on our websites. I sell one or two images a year. I don't work hard at it. It would NEVER put food on a table or pay a mortgage. But it does help pay for my web...

Re: Photography as a "business"

I agree with Al, that the probability for success just "selling your images," is around 0. Not only are these stock photographer out there but there are the microstock sites. And with multi megapixel phone cams and gopro cams and now drones, the competition is insurmountable. Likewise the ...

Re: ANDY's PHOTOGRAPHING VERMONT'S FALL FOLIAGE eBOOK

Some (hopefully) good news on this: I will be working on an updated version of this book during 2016. Not sure we can have it ready by the 2016 foliage season, but will be working on it. I have persuaded Carol Smith, one of our regular, talented photographers here with "boots on the ground"...

THE BEST OF VERMONT; Scenic Drives, Viewpoints, Ponds, Lakes, Streams, Bridges and Buildings

In an effort to "unclutter" the top of the board, this is the "new" "sticky" Thread for all the information posted as scenic drives, scenic views, ponds, lakes, streams, waterfalls, etc. All former sticky threads have been merged into this topic . You should be able to ...

Re: Tribute to GIC

This will be a long post, but as it relates to GIC, someone many of us held as a dear friend and voluminous contributor here, I hope you will indulge. George died in 2012, much too young, with much still to do here, of cancer. He fought it valiantly and with good humor and he touched our lives a way...
