Re: Rt 100 Wilmington to Stowe

David: I am pretty sure its not the "third eye," they are looking it. It has to be the "sockeye" . Seriously, while that Jimapco is a good map, you will do fine without it. I don't have one and heck, I wrote a book about these areas :-). I just pulled up Google Maps and...

Re: Questions about Burlington

Court: Fear not. You will be fine. Some of Vermont's very best will be within striking distance for you. You are within 30 minutes of Stowe. It is always a great place to visit and could have very good color, especially through Smugglers Notch. Consider doing a loop on day driving north out of Stowe...

Re: Floridian in New England - Oh, My!!

Hi Carl: Both Carol and BM are "local" and can give you very good information. I only visit, usually during foliage season. I can tell you all about some great places to visit, but not what the foliage conditions are. I do want to congratulate you on your successful surgery. My dad had tha...

Re: Foliage Update

Kerry: That color looks really good up that way. I don't think I have seen the reds and the varieties all at the same time in all of the trips I have made there. Reminds me of what I remember from back in the 70's when I lived there! You should find some good stuff. I assume you will, but DO go to t...

Re: Vermont foliage recommendations for Oct 13 to 16?

I would echo Carol's recommendation. The Champlain Valley is probably going to be your best bet that late in the season. If things progress the way it looks, foliage could be largely down by that late in the month. But because of the tempering winds off Lake Champlain, that area lags behind a bit.

A different "New England"

My "fall" photo trip this year was a whirlwind 3 1/2 day "jaunt" to Newport, RI. It is a very different New England than I am used to. Lots of boats, and nautical scenes. I brought back a few images. They are now up on my SmugMug site: http://www.lightcentricphotography.com/In-th...

Throw some of that fibrin in CT's morning "treats" Carol, and she won't have any problem getting up early
