Re: Peacham/Groton, oh yeah !!

PWT: Saw your photos of Peacham taken this weekend. I am encouraged. My photo was taken about October 6, last year and it doesn't look very advanced from yours. I am looking forward to much better color this year! Thanks for keeping us posted.

OOPS, re: my message above, Peacham is SOUTHwest, not Northwest of St. Johnsbury.

Re: Peacham/Groton, oh yeah !!

Hi PWT: You are making me nervous here. Last year, I took the first week of October off to travel back to Vermont for colors after a 20 year absence from the state. As you remember, due to some very unusual weather conditions, the colors were kind of a bust. Vowing to come back this year, I set the ...

Re: Dream Vacation

The Kaplan book is excellent, and when I ordered it last year about this time, I emailed him to be sure I was going to get it in time. He responded personally. Its a low-budget production, which makes it very affordable, but useful. He gives directions for the places to go to set up and get the shot...

Re: Photography Columbus Day weekend

Depends on how you define "way" north <g>. Last fall, I photographed Waits River, which is about 35-40 miles northwest of White River Junction and about 25 miles southeast of Montpelier. There are a couple of highly photographed little towns in the area (E. Corinth, E. Topsham, East orange...

Re: TRAVELING TO STOWE 1st and 2nd wk of OCT

Thanks Backroad. I'll try it. Sinclair -- been there done that many times. I used to go to school at UVM and drive back and forth between Cambridge and Burlington on the Pleasant Valley Road. The notch -- many, many times.

Re: TRAVELING TO STOWE 1st and 2nd wk of OCT

Hey, Backroad Explorer. I used to live about 10 miles N of Jeffersonville, went to school in Randolph and in Burlington, and had a girlfriend in Jeffersonville, so I knew that area pretty well in the old days. I'll be staying at the farm I used to live at between Oct 7 and 15th. Where is the Stageco...

Thanks, Tim. Especially for the p.s. I use Firefox on my Windows based system. I'll fire up IE to do the upload.

Re: Public Image Gallery on Foliage Vermont

Tim: Sorry to be a nuisance, one other question for clarification: When I upload the file, does the Foliage Vermont website actually have the file reside there? I do not currently have a website and my files are just on my own hard drive and/or DVD media.

Thanks again.

Re: Public Image Gallery on Foliage Vermont

Hi Tim: Interesting site. Could you give us some more parameters for uploading? E.g., is there a maximum or preferred height/width for an image. Presumably, it should be jpeg? I am a hobbyist nature photographer (never marketed an image -- not that I wouldn't :) ). I got my first infusion of enthusi...

Re: Color in the swamps

Hi pwt54. I know this is like asking you to "predict the weather", but from what you are seeing so far, is it looking more like a "normal" fall this year? Last year, I traveled to Vermont during the first week of October with great anticipation. My love for photography was first ...

Re: Goshen to Ripton

Thanks, BM. I lived in Bakersfield, Vt. of and on over a period of years back in the 70's, on a back road that was off the beaten path. I can still remember sliding around in the mud when the frost came out. I thought that's what the Kelly Stand Road might be like.
