Lunar Eclipse 10/8/14

Good morning all! Just a bit of information from NASA this morning: "From the east coast of North America, totality begins at 6:25 am EDT. The Moon will be hanging low over the western horizon, probably swollen by the famous Moon illusion into a seemingly-giant red orb, briefly visible before daybre...

Re: NEK Update 9/18/14

Great reports from the NEK! Can't wait to see pictures soon! I remember several years the NEK peaked in late September, esp around Sheffield heights, with gorgeous views from Darling Hill. To add to the great reports we have a great weather outlook the next couple of weeks to boot! A pattern change ...

Re: I'm back, out-of-date update and tease

Well lets see, IXL. Full moon is 10:51 GMT on October 8th. Your best bet other than New England for that time would either be along the NY/PA border from 20-30 miles East of Lake Erie to 20-30 miles West of the Hudson. Also peaking at that time is the spine of the Appalachains from Central PA thru M...

Re: I'm back, out-of-date update and tease

Welcome back IXL! It is always nice to "see" old friends again! Like I said on another thread this may become a Perfect Storm foliage season. A cool summer, wet but not overly so. Early cold shots and plenty of evil chlorophyl blasting sunshine. I know NC foresters have said they are expecting a red...

Re: Cold Air Coming

That's nothing. Wait until Fri Night/Sat am. Most of VT will be well down into the 20s and interior southern New England will have some frost. Bundle up CT! But by Sunday it should be back to 70s north and low 80s south. Probably another cold shot around 23rd 24th. But plenty of sun and the next 14 ...

Re: Cold Air Coming

I concur with those temps. And another plus is that there are no real storms coming up, just some frontal passages, so plenty of sun to destroy that evil chlorophyl HA HA HA HA HA!!!

Re: Cold Air Coming

Hi Wentworth, nice to see you back again! pretty much concur with those numbers this weekend. By far it should be pretty chilly. I still would not be surprised to see a few light frosts in the normally cold spots like sutton VT Saranac Lake NY and West Burke VT amount others. On a side note TD 6 has...
