Re: WEB CAMS for FOLIAGE

And here's another one....Stannard Mountain was outstanding but you might want to give Flag Pond Road a pass...There are parts of the Kingdom that are close to peak because of the recent frosts.

Scenes of Vermont changes

Hello everyone: Since the beginning of May, I have been slowly revamping Scenes of Vermont, following last year's disastrous server issues. The site is no longer on a Windows server, thank goodness, and a lot more secure. Its a slow process of redesign, but so far I have added a really nice Events C...

Re: Get Your Maple On!

Sugaring Season has been delayed big time but the polar vortex or whatever you want to call it. Winter is trying to hang on, and many Vermonters are struggling to keep warm because they have run out of wood or can't afford to buy more furnace oil. The winter is showing signs of relenting. Temperatur...

I can't tell you exactly where to go, but definitely you should not bother with mountainous areas which have been exposed to the recent wind. Re: Headed up Tomorrow

First thing to do is keep an eye on the weather. If it is raining or very overcast, don't bother. If there's sun, then head up as far as the intersection of 89 and I-91 and then head west through Woodstock and down towards Manchester then back around to Brattleboro. Color is hanging on and there has...

State Wide Foliage Report Sept 25th

Peak foliage is almost here in northeastern Vermont, albeit with muted colors because it is still cloudy here this afternoon. The Jay Peak area is at peak and the East Burke area is not far behind. Some of the best viewing is on I-91 from Newport to St.Johnsbury and almost any higher elevation road ...
