CT: I did stop at the Skinner Barn for some pictures! It was a perfect afternoon with a deep blue sky and puffy white clouds! A perfect backdrop for the red barn! I didn't stop at Mountain View, but did head up Bragg Hill. I was disappointed to not see the scarecrows! I was hoping to stop for some p...

I drove Rte. 100 yesterday from Waitsfield down to Rochester. Big difference in the foliage. There was still quite a bit of color in the Waitsfield area (not peak, but not too far past), but by the time I got to Rochester, it was more sticks than color. Drove over Bethel Mtn. Road and on the other s...

I drove the Common Road yesterday, and the colors were great! I stopped several times for photos, and the views were terrific! I had only gone partway down the road before, this time I took it all the way to the covered bridge and back. Beautiful!

Nice photos, PhotoOp. Looks like you were able to get some good ones despite the clouds! MrBumps - looks like we're swapping days. I'm planning on the Woodstock area tomorrow morning, and was up in the Peacham area today. The drizzle all morning (and cold temperatures!) didn't lend itself to many go...

I'm not sure about the overlooks. There are really no "pulloffs" for overlooks, but there may be a couple of areas with views if you pull over at the side of the road. It's a very "woodsy" drive, not a lot of long views, but several streams, brooks, small waterfalls, etc. along the road. I will see ...

I've been through Jefferson Notch a few times, and the road is a well-maintained dirt road. There are several trailheads up there, so there's usually a fair amount of traffic.

I guess I've found my "must do" spot for the upcoming weekend - Joe's Pond and Danville. I'm sure I've driven through Danville before, but I'll plan to explore some of the back roads in that area this weekend!

Never mind foul weather! I find that even in good weather, a change of clothes is a necessity. I learned the hard way... even with boots, walking through a field can make for an unpleasant day if your pants, socks, etc. are soaked!

Great photos Carol! Glad to see you guys made it to the overlook before the pouring rain set in. I did stop by Crystal Lake yesterday, and the colors were gorgeous! Unfortunately, it was mid-day, and the leaves were looking pretty washed-out, so I didn't get many good photos. Hopefully GIC had bette...

You can NEVER have too many shots of the same area! Did finally get some breaks of sun today, so that was nice. By the time I got back to MA, the skies were perfectly clear. I'll be heading up to VT again next weekend, staying in White River Jct. I didn't make it to Stowe this weekend, so I'm hoping...

Great photos! Thanks for sharing! I would concur that the color seems to be a bit further north than the Kanc still, although with the rain this weekend, I'm sure it will speed up the color change. You managed to capture some great color in your photos!

Northern NH report

Headed out this morning to explore northern NH. Haven't been up this far in several years, and decided to go exploring. Started out at Polly's Pancake Parlor in Sugar Hill for breakfast. The colors through Franconia Notch are pretty well along, but I noticed quite a bit of green still. Sugar Hill is...

Thanks for checking the weather - not sure I'll make it out for sunrise, but I plan to be up and out fairly early before it decides to rain again. Hoping to get to the Willoughby, Barton, Irasburg, Hazen's Notch areas at least. If the weather holds out, may head a little further west to Montgomery a...
