Re: Moose walks into a Vermont Scenic

NEK: I totally agree with you on that one. Definitely belongs on the cover of any wildlife magazine or VT magazine or VT tourism site! I loved seeing that moose with the cattle. So cute!!!!! Plus the barn and foliage and mountains make for a perfect backdrop. :D

Re: Pictures from my weekend in Vermont (Oct 13-15)

Triz: I love your photos and am so glad you went to Blueberry Lake! You hit the jackpot there with the colors and I'm so glad you were able to follow the directions I gave you, starting with Plunkton Road off 100. Last year (we all know it was a lot earlier than this year) the afternoon was a riot o...

Re: Mt Greylock - Mohawk Trail 10/13/2017 - Poor Foliage Color

Loafer: I covered 90% of your routes today that you planned on for tomorrow. I would wait till next weekend. We traveled for four hours in the NW corner. Skip the Barkhamsted Reservoir!!! It looks like summer there! We are over a week late, maybe more, in the foliage up there and it was pretty green...

Re: Mt Greylock - Mohawk Trail 10/13/2017 - Poor Foliage Color

Triz! That's great! Blueberry Lake is awesome! Glad you found it. Did you go to the northern edge of the lake for the better views? Where the marshy grasses were? The roads around Warren are terrific, my new favorite is Fuller Hill Road at the summit! Glad I could be of help. Enjoy the rest of your ...

Re: What gives????

Bob: I think you should have decent weather this weekend in Arlington. Stay positive! Just drive around and find your color, it may be a challenge, but there has to be some great color in SW VT in the route 7 corridor from Dorset into Manchester. When I came home Monday on 7 from Middlebury the moun...

Re: Mt Greylock - Mohawk Trail 10/13/2017 - Poor Foliage Color

Loafer: thanks for this post. I'm sorry that you had a disappointing drive with your Dad. As I was leaving VT Monday, I took 7 down into CT and the NW hills were early in color and the trees were lush and healthy. Canaan Mtn. all the way from Canaan (route 44 and 7 intersection) to Norfolk on 44 loo...

Re: Loon at Bald Hill Pond

A beautiful shot Ed. Thanks for sharing it. Sorry about your short lived VT trek. You'll be back next year I'm sure. I saw a loon last year and then bought a hand carved loon at a craft fair which is now on my living room mantel! CT

Re: What gives????

Bob: have a great time! I knew the weather would change. It's New England, remember? I'm hoping it is nice as well, most likely heading up again to Southern VT for the day. The other day will start touring NW CT as I came down route 7 all the way to CT yesterday and it was starting to look...

Blissful Lincoln Back Roads for My Last VT Day: A Must Drive For You!

Hello foliage friends: A most beautiful day turned out here around 10:30 after morning showers, and off I went to drive my favorite (and some new backroads after getting lost) in Lincoln. I headed out on 125 to 116 north to one of my special back roads, the Notch Road to Upper Notch Road back to Not...

Rain Shall Not Deter The Hard Core Leaf Peeper!

Well, we are experiencing some light rain here in Middlebury which should be over by noon and then sunshine prevails! It is quite breezy here but not intense. The leaves should hold on here pretty well IMO. Tomorrow is a different story, with possible heavy rains from Nate. However, WCAX states in t...

Middlebury Gap Today, Route 100 to Warren and more....

So, today I started back on the Middlebury Gap as I just had to get another foliage fix and the colors did not disappoint once again! Every time I turned a bend the colors were beautiful and grouped together in reds, oranges, yellows and golds. There was one tree, a flaming red maple next to a small...

Re: Dead Creek Wildlife Day -Addison VT - tomorrow, 10/7

Well, I did manage to squeeze Dead Creek Wildlife Day in but not 'till the very end unfortunately.... I became one with the foliage crazies today and spent most of the day chasing color which I will separate post for! Anyhow, the drive from Middlebury on route 23 (Weybridge Road) was divine, ...
