Middlebury Gap Today, Route 100 to Warren and more....

So, today I started back on the Middlebury Gap as I just had to get another foliage fix and the colors did not disappoint once again! Every time I turned a bend the colors were beautiful and grouped together in reds, oranges, yellows and golds. There was one tree, a flaming red maple next to a small...

Re: Dead Creek Wildlife Day -Addison VT - tomorrow, 10/7

Well, I did manage to squeeze Dead Creek Wildlife Day in but not 'till the very end unfortunately.... I became one with the foliage crazies today and spent most of the day chasing color which I will separate post for! Anyhow, the drive from Middlebury on route 23 (Weybridge Road) was divine, ...

Re: Mother Nature Has Turned On the Switch to Color Mode! Go here!

Has anyone been to the Appalachian Gap overlook since the foliage popped? I'm thinking of leaving after breakfast to go up the Middlebury Gap (125 -again), to Blueberry Lake in Warren and to Common Road in Waitsfield to revisit some places I missed before coming to Middlebury. :)

I think we are back to hitting home runs! When I mentioned awhile ago that we were in a holding pattern with the colors, well this certainly "played out"!!!!!! 8)

Re: Heading to St. Johnsbury this tomorrow. Hoping for some color!

dankimbear: Good luck with your trip this weekend! My friend just got back from her hut to hut hike in the Whites and said the colors are gorgeous. It was a day before our colors starting popping out here so I think you will see the same. Let us know what you find so others can benefit as well. It's...

The University of Vermont Morgan Horse Farm, Weybridge VT

http://www.uvm.edu/morgan/ Hello! After touring Vergennes, I headed to the Morgan Horse Farm in Weybridge, just outside of Middlebury. This is an amazing spot for the entire family! There is a very large statue of the Morgan Horse just in front of the white barn/stables set on a well manicured, expa...

Re: Mother Nature Has Turned On the Switch to Color Mode! Go here!

Hello, I forgot to mention that the relative of the owner of the Ripton Store also confirmed that the colors popped out overnight. She arrived a few days ago to green on the Middlebury Gap and the color burst happened right after the showers came through. What a nice conversation we had, everyone ha...

Re: Anyone been to Vergennes?

Loved Vergennes! What a great small town with an adorable town green with a monument and gazebo. Lots of nice shops and places to eat. I had a very fine lunch at the Hired Hand Brewing Company after some shopping in town. The Vergennes Laundry however, is closed and I heard it was for sale..... It w...

Anyone been to Vergennes?

I'm leaving Waitsfield tomorrow and headed to Middlebury for the Columbus Day Weekend! So excited! I have so many fun things to do in the area but am first headed to Vergennes, a town that has been on my bucket list for years! Someone sent this to me so I am quite intrigued! "The so-called smal...

NEK Fall Foliage Festival at Peacham 10/5

A most excellent day today at the Peacham Fall Festival! Started out with that amazing ride up Mack Mountain and then came upon a one horse Belgian wagon ride into the corn fields near the fire station! What a delight to come across first thing! Hopped right on and had some awesome photos of us in t...
